At Siren, the focus of being an "owner" shifted to being a "steward". This means we cultivate a relationship of respect. This is how we can achieve that our own nearest ecosystems thrive as a living, independent yet interconnected unity.
The Stonecircle at Siren is a special place, dedicated to how we honour the earth's worth through rituals and presence. It, in a way, works like a map to observe the turning of the wheel and the 8 feasts of the year.
I think true resilience and bravery continuously show up in the world around us. Nothing beats the smell of damp earth, the garden after a pouring rainstorm and meadowsweet waving in the wind.
The Garden teaches me to learn through the senses. To not only observe the cycles of the year, but also feel that in and on our bodies.
Our garden is being cared for in a way where we want to cultivate and motivate biological diversity and ecological health.
I am certain that if we work together, rather than try to control the natural world around us, we are much better prepared the changing of our climates, both global as well as local.
By planting indigenous, thriving local plants as well as finding the right companions, we want to influence the ecosystems around us in a positive way to grow a vibrant garden.
A resilient community garden is a mission, as well as a necessity for a future full of life.
My goal here is to cultivate a landscape that will continue to thrive long after I am gone. That is able to continue to grow and flourish, self sufficient, self-renewing and rich with tradition and love for the land.
We move towards a dream of abundance. Where people can meet no matter what path or background. And where we can share knowledge, harvest and connection alike.
