On Sunday I will return back to Ireland. The last time was 2016 and I went alone. This time I bring my family and we'll explore the myths, legends and history of the country. We'll return right before the Bealtaine celebration and I assume a big dose of inspiration for all things Siren. On my phone I have a countdown: 5 days until Ireland and I feel both the excitement, yet I'm very calm to head on this journey.
The labyrinth grounds were prepared this weekend for the maypole dance, which this year, we'll decorate together with all the participants. Last year was such a wonderful gathering and it was so much fun to have the activities around this time of the year. The Maypole dance marks growth, love, fertility, luck and most of all FUN! Hopping over fire also is an old custom believed to attract good luck, wealth and health. You can hop over alone, together, however you like.
I have very fond memories of that Bealtaine feast, celebrating together with close friends, family and wonderful people. Knowing we'll be repeating a tradition like that fills me with joy. Also after using several hours cleaning away the stones, mowing counter clockwise, clockwise and gathering all the loose grass to serve as a base in the BIG flowerbed.
Whereas a couple of weeks ago I felt a bit lost for a destination, I now realise it isn't that important, right now I'm fully allowed to just enjoy the journey, ride the waves of what needs to be done in the moment.
Glastonbury is also approaching and despite the unrest in the world - which is a little nervewrecking - I have to be realistic and that is that I cannot change the entire world. I could wish for things to be different, but that's many who do and live in those kind of times ;-).
I can make small changes, move pebbles that I'm supposed to move and leave what needs to be left alone. I will speak out against injustice and choose the products I make and sell wisely, but I cannot take upon me: all the battles of the world. And this is a theme I will work with in June.
We still have some days left of April, but I feel it's worth it to reflect a little bit on what has happened.
April asked me several questions: Are you afraid to be alone or afraid of your inner power? To do the unexpected, to change as I must and move, to go there where there's movement means you will ultimately disappoint some people. And some will decide to no longer continue with you on your journey. But in all my creative endeavours it always came down to: finding my way and I do this largely by myself to be able to give 100%. To achieve a goal I have to be disciplined and that means making choices that doesn't include the entire world.
That doesn't mean I'm exclusive, everyone is welcome, but I won't be for everyone - which is fine! It gives direction in where to put my energy and where does everything grow stale? Finding these answers was perfect and I've been working with these themes for a while now. To trust in and work with my potential, to do what I'm able to do and stand in my power, craft and knowledge. April has been an month for katalyst work and oh boy! it showed!
May is a month I'm very excited for and I think our journey to Ireland pairs up perfectly with the transition from this month to the next. Some of the themes that came forward during the 12 Magical Nights (a ritual done in December) was the following: to call for love, dreams and visions materialising in this world, looking at things from a broader perspective, clarity and objectivity, purpose and bravery. It will be a month where situations can be seen for what they are and aquiring/realising that I have the tools to achieve change, purifying change.
As my practice is a combination of celtic, norse and Japanese Shinto I feel that May is a bit of everything here and for me personally, it goes deeper. It's the inner processes. Not necessarily heavy selfwork - that takes a lifetime! - but more adjusting the details, landing deeper into what it is that I am and wish to offer through Siren.
With the New Moon in Aries on the 17th of April there was a strong nudge from emotional impulse to structure. That even though my creativity knows no bounds, I need to take the reigns sometimes to not have those 8457438 hobbies go bananas all at the same time. I want to work on not getting too overwhelmed - or at least have the tools to regain focus when I do! - and concentrate on what it is that I'm building.
Stange Næringsfond believes in what I do and supported my tiny company with 5000kr last week to be able to invest in my equipment. I do take this as a sign that I work on my future on my terms and that which resonates with that will react. I am not in a hurry. I will build quietly and intentionally.
So, as the moon turns to waxing this week as I write this post, I will continue study biology and earth science for most of the week, before we head to Ireland and enjoy the magic that this country has to offer.
Have a wonderful day wherever you are.
Stay kind!
Lene
